I suddenly have been nostalgic about Paris. I was there last year and still wish that I would have had more time to explore such a vibrant city. One of my favorite things to do while I was in Paris was to people watch. On the metro, the street, the museums and cafés... it was amazing to me how well dressed everyone was; older women on the metro would be decked out in their vintage fur coats with Chanel eyeglasses, men with their flawless, bohemian chic style that always seemed to look effortless, women walking down the Rue Saint-Honoré with their black, sheer stockings with the sexy seam down the back and red lipstick. Parisian people take pride in their appearance. They appreciate fine quality and take the time to make themselves a little sexier before they leave their house in the morning. I could get use to a city like Paris.
Another reason why Paris has been in my thoughts is because I came across a book at Anthropologie the other day. The book was called My French Life by Vicki Archer. As I flipped through the pages I noticed that we both had the same passion for French culture, food, design, and fashion. I had tried my first French macaron in Paris at La Maison du Chocolat on the Rue Saint-Honoré... they were little confections of pure bliss. "My first macaron from Ladurée counts as one of my life's memorable taste sensations." -V.Archer. Also, another fond memory was the view and stillness of La Seine as the sun set over the Eiffel Tower on my walk back to Montparnasse after a day of museum strolling. Every small and unique trait to the parisian culture fascinates me.
(I love this quote by Vicki Archer about Paris)
"A weekend in Paris is like a tablespoon of elixir:
it should be taken full strength and on a regular basis."

I can't believe we both wrote about macarons in the same week. I'm learning how to make them now so we can make some together when I come to RI!
